Dear Fellow Residents of Harnett County District 2,
I have sincerely enjoyed serving as our Harnett County Commissioner over the past year. I am truly grateful for this opportunity. I have learned a lot and continue to learn every day. I have been overwhelmed with the calls of support that I have received in my first year. Thank all of you.
I have been actively pursuing the restoration of inpatient mental health beds in Harnett County and progress in this area appears to be right around the corner. I national mental health provider has been located that will contract with Good Hope Hospital to manage a 16 bed inpatient mental health facility in Erwin. With the pending closure of Dorothea Dix Hospital in Wake County, our project is crucial to the health and well-being of Harnett residents. An engineer and architect have been selected to renovate the inpatient mental health unit at Good Hope Hospital. The project is expected to take approximately six months.
I have sought out and listened to the residents throughout my district regarding economic incentives and initiatives, hunting with dogs, education needs and healthcare issues as well as many other concerns. I am always willing to listen to all points of view.
I will always remember that this seat on the Board is your seat. Our district only allows me to sit there as your representative. If I can be of assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am here to serve you.
I will be accessible to all no matter whether you live in Anderson Creek, Coats-Grove, East Averasboro, Erwin-Duke, Stewart’s Creek, or West Averasboro. The lines of communication between you and the County have been opened. I want to be your voice in Harnett County. I plan to keep this website running so I may pass information along to you and so that you may contact me. Please feel free to contact me by telephone (910-897-GARY), mail, or email. My door is open. Please take advantage of it.
Please let me know of any events in District 2’s communities that I should attend. I am looking forward to being actively involved in all six precincts in our district.
Again, thank you and with best personal regards, I am
Very Truly Yours,
Gary A. House Harnett County Commissioner |
